Early Childhood Education Major (PreK-4)

The Early Childhood Education major is certified to teach pre-school through grade four. Through the coursework, students develop a theory of the teaching/ learning process. They develop an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices with young children. Throughout their education, students will receive numerous practicum experiences working with preschool, kindergarten and primary grade children in a variety of settings. Admission and retention criteria are given to sophomores during the spring term and to transfer students in the term they transfer into the Education Department.
